What is 5-stage filtration?

How loud is the JADE® 2.0?
JADE® 2.0 operates at 37.3 dB on the lowest setting—quieter than a whisper and barely audible. On high speed it reaches approximately 58 dB, comparable to normal conversation. Run it on low or medium and it stays unobtrusive in offices, classrooms, clinics, and living spaces alike.
How often do filters need replacement?
The HEPA/Carbon combo filter should be replaced every 6-12 months depending on usage and air quality. The UV-C bulb should be replaced every 12 months — it has an 8,000-hour rated lifespan, after which germicidal output drops below spec even if the bulb still glows. JADE's indicator light alerts you when replacement is due.
What room size can JADE® 2.0 cover?
JADE® 2.0 is rated for spaces up to 1,500 square feet. That covers most classrooms, conference rooms, large living spaces, waiting rooms, and clinical environments. For smaller rooms (offices, bedrooms, single operatories) it delivers high air-change-per-hour rates well above typical residential or office standards. For spaces above 1,500 sq ft, consider multiple units or stepping up to ONYX SCA® or COBALT®.
Is UV-C safe around occupants?
Yes. The UV-C germicidal light is fully enclosed inside the unit — there's no UV exposure to people in the room. Air passes through the UV-C chamber internally. JADE® 2.0 is UL and ETL listed and FCC certified for use in occupied spaces including classrooms, offices, clinics, and homes.
What's the difference between JADE® 2.0 and ONYX SCA®?
JADE® 2.0 ($849) features 5-stage filtration including UV-C, an airflow range of 135-448 CFM, and covers up to 1,500 sq ft. ONYX SCA® ($949) is wall-mounted with tamper-proof controls, 125-240 CFM airflow, covers 1,000 sq ft — better for schools, public spaces, and high-traffic environments where the unit needs to be out of reach.
