ONYX SCA® is a wall-mounted air purification system with 5-stage filtration designed for schools, medical offices, and commercial spaces. It features tamper-proof lockable controls to prevent unauthorized setting changes, a built-in PM2.5 laser particle counter for real-time air quality monitoring, and Auto Mode that adjusts fan speed based on detected pollution levels. What does the PM2.5 sensor do?
The built-in PM2.5 laser particle counter continuously monitors fine particulate matter in the air. In Auto Mode, ONYX automatically adjusts fan speed based on real-time air quality readings—ramping up when pollution is detected and scaling back when air is clean.
How often do filters need replacement?
The pre-filter and activated carbon filter typically last about six months. The HEPA filter lasts up to one year under normal use. The UV-C bulb should be replaced every 2-3 years (approximately 9,000 hours). Filter change indicators alert you when replacement is due.
What's the difference between ONYX SCA® and JADE® 2.0?
ONYX SCA® ($949) is wall-mounted with tamper-proof controls, covers 1,000 sq ft at 240 CFM, and includes a PM2.5 sensor. JADE® 2.0 ($849) is floor-standing covering 1,500 sq ft with 135-448 CFM airflow and touchless controls. Both use 5-stage filtration with UV-C.
