Surgically Clean Air Scores Big Inside the Locker Room of the NHL’s Most Successful Team
Founded in 1909, the Montreal Canadiens are the longest continuously operating professional ice hockey team worldwide. One of the oldest North American professional sports franchises. The Montreal Canadiens have won the National Hockey League (NHL) Championships and the Stanley Cup more than any other franchise.
NHL Hockey players and the coaching staff are near each other in the Locker Room. Most noticeably, between periods, the entire team rushes into the Locker Room. As they do so, the air quality diminishes rapidly, with all the athletes breathing heavily and sweating profusely. This creates an airborne concoction of germs and odours that are unhealthy to breathe, reducing the athlete’s recovery process before returning to the ice for the next period. It also creates a potent environment for human-to-human spread of illness.
The Montreal Canadiens installed two commercial Surgically Clean Air Purifiers in the locker room next to the recovery stationary bikes and the main locker room area.
While they have not won another Stanley Cup since installing their Surgically Clean Air purifiers, the team is experiencing the benefits of having cleaner and healthier air for their players and coaching staff to breathe when they are all in close proximity in the locker room.
